Liverpool v Chelsea: Preview

Liverpool host Chelsea at Anfield this Saturday, when Antonio Conte’s men will be looking to claim their first Premier League victory over their rivals since November 2014.

Even though Chelsea seem to be back on form having won their last 4 games, online bookmakers currently offer Liverpool as favourites to win.

In fact bookmakers odds are pretty short on both teams, so make sure you take advantage of the price boosts that Betfair.com and 888sport.com are offering on the match.

Looking at the table, only 3 points separate Liverpool and Chelsea coming into Saturday’s game.

While a win for last season’s winners Chelsea could see them move up to 2nd, a Liverpool win would mean they'd be level on points with Chelsea on 25 points.

This will probably be a tough game for both teams to win, as neither manager will want to lose ground on their main competitors in this seasons title chase.

Liverpool may have had more success when these teams have met in the Premier League over the past few years, but Chelsea are looking strong and won’t be easy.

You can watch Liverpool v Chelsea live on BT Sport at 17:30 on Saturday November 25th.

Liverpool Odds: 6/5

If you’re betting that Liverpool will get a home win and beat Chelsea, Ladbrokes.com currently offers the best odds on the result at 6/5.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side come into our Premier League match to bet on sitting in 5th place on 22 points, just 3 points behind Antonio Conte's 3rd placed Chelsea.

After a bit of an unsettled run, Liverpool are playing much better and have won their last 3 Premier League matches against Huddersfield, West Ham and Southampton.

This is Liverpool's biggest match until they play Arsenal at the end of December.

If they can take 3 points from Chelsea ahead of a somewhat easier run, it would put them in a much better position coming into the Christmas period.

Luckily Klopp doesn’t have too many players missing, and it’s expected that Matip will be back in time for Saturday’s game, however Lallana is still a major doubt.

Clyne and Bogdan are still ruled out, with neither expected back until at least next year.

CHelsea Odds: 5/2

If you’re betting on Chelsea coming away from Anfield with all three points, WilliamHill.com offers the best odds at 5/2 plus a 'bet £10, get £30 in bonus bets' deal for new customers.

To get your hands on the William Hill signup offer, simply join using promo code 'C30', bet £10 on Liverpool v Chelsea, and win or lose, they'll credit your account with £30 in bonus bets!

Chelsea have lost 3 games so far this season, and can’t afford to lose many more if they want to have any chance of catching Man City at the top of the table.

Conte’s men have been playing well, having won their last 4 Premier League games against Watford, Bournemouth, Man Utd and West Brom.

If they can keep with their winning run and bag a victory over Liverpool, they will be in a very strong position coming into a relatively easy run of games in December.

When it comes to injuries, Chelsea don’t have too many players missing.

It’s expected that Moses and Batshuayi could be back in contention to make the line up after missing a few games with minor injuries.

Odds On A Draw: 27/10

If you're betting on neither team doing enough to win, BetVictor.com offers the best odds at 27/10 plus a 'bet £10, get £40 in bonus credit' deal for new customers.

Looking at the stats, 3 of the last 5 Premier League games between these two teams have ended in draws and so this clash could easily end with the same result.

Both teams will be looking for a win to keep pace with league leaders Man City, but it will be a tough game and we can see both sides cancelling each other out.
