Cheltenham Festival Betting - 2015

Cheltenham Betting

Cheltenham Festival is the biggest meet in the National Hunt Calendar and offers punters a wide range of horse races to use bookmakers signup offers over four jam-packed days.

The 2015 Cheltenham Festival kicks off on Tuesday March 10th with the Supreme Novices Hurdle at 13:30 and ends on Friday March 13th with the Grand Annual Chase.

Cheltenham Festival Betting Guide

To help make sense of all of the races you can bet on we've prepared a brief overview to Cheltenham Festival 2015. This includes previews of the big races on each day, the horses you should consider backing and the online bookmakers offering the best odds for each.

Cheltenham Festival - Day 1

Day one of the Cheltenham Festival is one of the best for using the betting deals that bookmakers offer new signups as there are three great races to bet on. First up is the Supreme Novices Hurdle with current favourite Douvan best odds at Betfair at 2/1.

A good outside chance horse is Silver Concorde who Betfred.com offer at 16/1 and has some form coming into the Cheltenham Festival. The next big race to bet on on the first day of the festival is the Arkle Trophy which is held over Prestbury Park’s larger fences.

Current race favourite is Un De Sceaux (Willie Mullins) who’s odds are pretty poor (8/11 at Coral) and so you might be better going for either Vantour at 10/1 (SkyBet) or Clarcam who’s currently best odds at Ladbrokes at a highly attractive 16/1.

Next up is without doubt day one of the Cheltenham Festivals' feature race, the Champion Hurdle and is held over two miles. At the time of writing you’ll get best odds on the race favourite Faugheen at top rated Irish bookmaker Betfred at 5/4.

Cheltenham Festival - Day 2

The highlight of day two of the 2015 Cheltenham Festival is without doubt the Queen Mother Champion Chase which features horses aged five years or older over two miles.

The race is sponsored by Betway with the bookmaker offering best odds for the favourite Sprinter Sacre at 3/1. Following closely in the betting stakes for the Queen Mother Champion Chase is Sire De Grugy (9/2 at BetVictor) and Dodging Bullets who’s also 9/2 at SkyBet.

The second biggest race of day two of the Cheltenham Festival is the three mile RSA Chase which takes place over an extended three miles. At the top of the market with most online bookmakers are Kings Palace (11/2 at Bet365) and Don Poli (11/2 at 888sport).

Cheltenham Festival - Day 3

The best race to bet on as we head into day three of Cheltenham is the Ladbrokes World Hurdle. The race is a three mile hurdle race with twelve hurdles to navigate over 4,828m.

With top rated British Bookmaker Ladbrokes.com sponsoring the race, it’s no surprise that they also offer some of the best odds. Ladbrokes offer current race favourite More Of That at 7/2 closely followed by Saphir Du Rheu at 6/1 and Rock On Ruby at 8/1.

The race is favoured by stayers due to the distance and the amount of hurdles horses need to master and so any one of those three horses could end up triumphant. Ladbrokes also offer slight outsider Whisper at good odds with the current price a fairly generous 16/1.

Cheltenham Festival - Day 4

The last day of betting on the 2015 Cheltenham Festival sees no less than seven races taking place with the feature race being the World famous Cheltenham Gold Cup at 15:20.

The race comprises twenty two fences over 5,331m and is a really competitive race with over thirty four entrants. Stand out runners include Silviniaco Conti who romped to victory in the King George VI Chase late last year (10/3 at 888sport) and Many Clouds (10/1 at Bet365).

Another strong contender betting wise will be Lord Windermere who won the race at the last Cheltenham Festival and will be looking to follow in Kauto Star’s footsteps (the first horse to actually regain the Gold Cup when he did it back in the season of 2009).

British Bookmakers favourite betting portal WilliamHill.com offer odds of 14/1 on Lord Windermere doing just that. Other good races for betting on include the Triumph Hurdle and Albert Bartlett Novice Hurdle prior to the meet ending with the Grand Annual Chase at 17:15.
