Cheltenham Festival 2016

The 2016 Cheltenham Festival takes place from March 15th-18th, and is one of the biggest meets in the racing calendar, with £4m in prize-money.

While there are 28 races across the 4 days, the Gold Cup, which takes place on Friday 18th, will be the most prestigious race of Cheltenham 2016.

Last year Coneygree was the first novice chaser to win the Gold Cup in over 40 years, and with so many strong runners in the mix for the 2016 Gold Cup, including Don Cossack, Vautour, Don Poll, Cue Card and Djakadam, it’s set to be a real battle.

The full list of runners isn’t finalised until 48 hours beforehand, and odds are likely to change the closer it gets to the race, so get in early to get the best odds.

The Cheltenham Festival kicks off at 1.30pm on Tuesday the 15th with Champion Day.

There are 7 races throughout the day, including The Sky Bet Supreme Novices’ Hurdle Race and the Stan James Champion Hurdle Challenge Trophy.

Next up is Ladies Day, where it’s as much about the fashion as it is the racing, with the highlight being the Queen Mother Champion Chase where Un De Sceaux is favourite.

The Ryanair World Hurdle takes place on St. Patrick's Day, where the festive atmosphere will be ramped up with some dodgy Irish themed celebrations.

Across the 4 days of the Festival, you’ll find that bookmakers will offer new Cheltenham betting offers and price boosts each day so keep checking this page for the latest deals.
