England v Andorra: Match Preview
This weekend’s main match sees a return to the World Cup qualifiers when England take on Andorra on Saturday, in the hopes of further securing top place in Qualifying Group K.
Despite being top of the table, England face a critical week as they head into the second round of the European Qualifiers for next years World Cup under new coach Thomas Tuchel.
Their first match sees the Three Lions face Andorra at Villa Park on Saturday 6th September, which is followed up on Tuesday the 9th with Serbia v England in Belgrade.
England have been on top form so far in the competition, with impressive wins over Albania and Latvia in March, followed by a 1–0 away victory against Andorra in June.
A win on Saturday would set Tuchel’s side up for victory ahead of their clash against Serbia, who are currently the only real challenger to their position at the top of Group K.
In the lead up to England v Andorra, we've taken a look at both team’s recent performances, and any player injuries that could affect either managers match preparations.
England: Team News
England have had a fantastic start to their 2026 World Cup campaign, and are currently sitting at the top of Group K after 3 victories in the first round earlier in the year.
As well as the maximum 9 points for three wins out of three, a healthy +6 goal difference gives them even more of an advantage heading into the weekends European Qualifiers.
Tuchel’s start to his reign as England manager has been impressive, although a recent 1-3 loss in a friendly at Wembley against Senegal raised some concerns.
Tuchel has already named his 24 man squad, with Trent Alexander-Arnold the big name to miss out, with uncapped duo Elliot Anderson and Djed Spence joining the squad fpr the first time.
Defenders John Stones and Tino Livramento get their first call-ups since Tuchel took over, with Bukayo Saka, Cole Palmer and Levi Colwill unable to make it due to injury.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek is also back in the squad seven years after his last England cap, with Elliot Anderson also rewarded for his current good form with a spot in the 24-man squad.
With experienced players such as Harry Kane, Declan Rice, Jordan Henderson, Marcus Rashford and Jordan Pickford all set to be involved, England fans will be expecting an easy win.
British Bookmakers are offering some great odds on Tuchel’s side dominating possession throughout the game, thanks to a strong attack and great midfield support.
England: Form
Looking at England's last 5 fixtures, they've won 4, drawn 0, and lost 1 scoring a total of 12 goals (2.4 goals per game) and conceding a total of 3 goals, all 3 coming in their last match.

Andorra: Team News
Andorra have had a terrible start to their World Cup campaign, having yet to earn a point or score a goal in the competition, and unsurprisingly sit at the bottom of Group K.
Although the last match against England ended in a narrow 1-0 win for England, it wouldn’t be a big surprise if this match ends with a much higher goal tally for the home side.
Andorra have always struggled against England, with crushing losses in their last World Cup campaign back in 2021 which saw them lose both matches by 5-0, and 4-0.
Koldo Alvarez’s men have always struggled to score against the elite teams of the world, with Saturday's match unlikely to be any different for his team.
It looks as if he has a full squad to choose from for the match. There are no known injury worries to deal with, which will be great news for a country with such a small talent pool.
Andorra's line up on Saturday evening will likely feature experienced defenders Pujol, Borra, San Nicolás, Llovera, Olivera, and M. García supporting Marc Vales in midfield.
Vales could potentially be flanked by players like Rodrigo, Babot or Cervós in midfield, with Richard Fernández bringing a small amount of attacking flair to the side.
Andorra will clearly be underpowered in attack, and are expected to rely on a compact formation to hamper England's advances, and take advantage of any counter-attacking opportunities.
Andorra: Form
Andorra's record over their last 5 matches in all competitions is won 0, drawn 1 and lost 4. They've failed to score in each of the last 5 games, conceding 8 (1.6 goals per game).

There have been 5 World Cup matches between England and Andorra, with England winning all 5 scoring 18 goals, and Andorra failing to score on each occasion.
Of the 7 total wins for England, 3 of them were played at Wembley Stadium, and 4 away.

Gareth Southgate's England beat Andorra 4-0 on the day, with 2 goals coming from Jesse Lingard, a Harry Kane penalty and Bukayo Saka rounding things off in the 85th minute.
The biggest win that England have ever had over Andorra was on the 10th of June back in 2009 when Fabio Capello's side won 6-0 on home turf at Wembley Stadium.
Two goals from Wayne Rooney and Jermain Defoe did most of the damage, with Frank Lampard and Peter Crouch also getting in on the act of inflicting Andorra's biggest loss to England.
