Joshua v Parker: Preview

The first major boxing clash of 2018 takes place this Saturday, when the current World Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua takes on WBA and IBF title holder Joseph Parker.

Both of the unbeaten heavyweights put their World Title belts on the line in this winner-takes-all fight, with bookmakers offering British Superstar Joshua as the firm favourite to win.

As expected, there has been some hostility in the press conferences leading up to the fight, with both Joshua and Parker talking themselves up to the max.

Joshua has been promising to put Parker on the canvas like his previous 20 opponents, while Parker reckons that one clean hit is all it will take to secure him another victory.

This is set to be one of the most exciting bouts in quite a while, and although bookmakers offer Joshua as the expected winner, it will be one hell of a clash to watch.

You can watch Joshua v Parker on Sky Sports Box Office at 10:00pm on 31/03/2018.

Olympic gold medalist and current World Champion Joshua, is unbeaten in 20 fights since turning professional, and will be determined to continue his unbeaten run on Saturday night.

In April, Joshua delivered the performance of his career to add the WBA title to his IBF crown, when he secured a captivating win against Wladimir Klitschko.

While he has the height advantage over Parker, he’ll need to ensure that he keeps his focus and control, after appearing quite angry and on edge in the press conference earlier in the week.

Coach Rob McCracken has been working on a more technical approach rather than depending on his usual heavy handed winning style, and will be hoping this helps him retain his title.

Parker's Best Odds: 9/2

If you’re betting that Parker will grab the 25th win of his career and maintain his 100% record, most bookmakers offer him at 9/2 - including one of our favourites, Bet365.com.

The 26 year old New Zealander comes into the Joshua v Parker fight with a 24-0 unbeaten run, having also won 18 of his bouts via knockouts.

Parker is the current WBA and IBF world heavyweight champion, and while he is confident he can beat Joshua, this is without a doubt the biggest fight of his career.

It's set to be an extremely tough fight for both boxers, who both believe that neither have ever faced opponents like themselves before.

Given they are both unbeaten, and have the cockiness and confidence to think they can win, this is going to be a fantastic match to watch and have a bet on.

Also sitting ringside will be WBC titleholder Deontay Wilder, who could be looking for a clash against the winner in what would be another epic fight!

Best Odds On A Draw: 40/1

It's quite unlikely that the fight will end in a draw, especially given the fact that Anthony Joshua has won every single one of his fights by knocking out his opponent.

If you do want to bet on a draw, Coral.co.uk and Betfair.com both offer best odds at 40/1.

There's also either bookmakers signup offers or price boosts to consider if you'll be creating a new account to bet on the fight at either bookmaker.
